Quality Control

Crusher Wear Parts Quality Control

A wear part is only as good as the batch it came from. This page sets out exactly what we inspect, at which stage, against which specification, and what documentation you receive — so that quality can be verified rather than assumed.

12 Inspection Stages from incoming material to packing
100% Heats Analysed spectrometer sample before every pour
9 Documents per Shipment certificates, reports and packing list
ISO 9001 Certification third-party inspection available on request
Inspection Stages

What We Check, and Why It Matters

Each stage below states what is done, what it controls, and the record it produces. If a stage in this list matters more to your plant than the others, tell us and it will be emphasised in your inspection plan.

01
📊

Санҷиши ашёи хом

Incoming

Incoming scrap, pig iron and ferro-alloys are checked for chemistry and cleanliness before release to the melting shop. Material is issued with an internal batch number so it can be traced back if a problem appears later.

Record produced: Incoming material verification record

Chemical Composition Analysis

Обшавии

A spectrometer sample is taken from every heat and analysed for carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, phosphorus and sulfur. Pouring is only authorised once the result is within specification for the grade ordered.

Record produced: Chemical composition report per heat

💦

рехтан & Mould Control

рехтан

Pouring temperature, time and mould condition are logged for each casting, together with the heat number that was poured. This links the finished part to the exact melting batch it came from.

Record produced: Pouring log linked to heat number

04
🔬

Visual & Surface Inspection

Post-cast

Castings are checked for cracks, porosity, shrinkage, sand inclusion and cold shuts. Where a surface defect is repairable, it is recorded and repaired to a defined procedure rather than blended over.

Record produced: Visual inspection record and weld repair log

Heat Treatment Control

Heat treatment

Solution treatment, water toughening, quenching and tempering are carried out to a written cycle for each grade, with furnace temperature records retained per batch. Heat treatment is the step that creates the mechanical properties, so the cycle is documented rather than inferred.

Record produced: Heat treatment furnace record per batch

06
📏

Hardness Testing

Heat treatment

Brinell or Rockwell hardness is tested on every batch after heat treatment, and on individual castings where the application calls for it. Where work hardening is expected in service, the as-supplied hardness is the baseline checked at dispatch.

Record produced: Hardness test record per batch

07
⚖

Mechanical Property Testing

Testing

Tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and impact toughness are tested on cast-to-size test bars poured from the same heat as the production castings, so the result reflects the parts being shipped rather than a general grade average.

Record produced: Mechanical property test report

08
🔬

Metallographic Examination

Testing

Microstructure is examined to confirm austenitic structure and carbide distribution in manganese steel, and matrix and carbide form in high chrome iron. This catches heat treatment problems that a hardness reading alone can miss.

Record produced: Metallographic report (on request)

09
⚙

Dimensional Inspection

Коркарди

Castings are measured against the customer drawing or OEM specification. Mounting faces, bolt hole positions and locating shoulders are checked with calibrated gauges and templates, because a dimensionally correct wear part is what makes fitment and even wear possible.

Санҷиши ниҳоӣ & Packing Check

Final

A final inspection is completed before packing, with a photo record of the parts, the packing and the shipping marks so that what left the foundry can be verified against what was ordered.

Material Traceability

Final

Every casting is traceable to its heat number, its mould and its heat treatment batch. That chain is what allows a plant to investigate a single part in service without having to guess which production run it came from.

Third-Party Inspection

Optional

Inspection by SGS, BV, Intertek or a nominated customer representative can be arranged on request, with the inspector working from the same drawings and specifications used in our own inspection.

Record produced: Third-party inspection certificate

Documentation

What You Receive With Every Shipment

A wear part without paperwork is difficult to accept into stores and impossible to trace later. This is the document set that ships with your order.

  • Material certificate for the heat poured
  • Chemical composition report (C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, P, S)
  • Mechanical property report — tensile, yield and impact
  • Hardness test record
  • Heat treatment record
  • Dimensional inspection report against drawing
  • Visual inspection record and weld repair log where applicable
  • Packing list with shipping marks
  • Certificate of origin and full export documentation

Additional or customised reporting — specific tolerances, nominated inspection points, customer-specific forms — can be arranged if you tell us at order stage.

Traceability

From Heat Number to Your Stores

Traceability is what makes a quality claim checkable. Every casting is linked to the heat it was poured from, and that link is retained through heat treatment, machining and packing.

1. Heat Number

Each melting batch receives a heat number. The spectrometer result for that heat is recorded before pouring is authorised, so the chemistry of the steel is known before the casting exists.

2. Casting Record

The heat number, mould and pouring parameters are recorded against the castings produced, which means the part can be traced back to how it was actually poured.

3. Heat Treatment Batch

Solution treatment or quenching records are linked to the same heat, so the mechanical properties of a specific part can be supported by the furnace cycle it received.

4. Inspection and Shipment

Dimensional and final inspection records, plus the packing list, complete the chain from raw material to the part arriving in your stores.

What This Means in Practice

If a part fails in service, we can investigate the actual heat it came from rather than discussing the grade in general terms. That is the difference between a material certificate that means something and one that is just a printed range.

Certification & Third-Party Inspection

Independent Verification

Inspection by a third party can be arranged on request, working from the same drawings and specifications used in our own inspection.

✅

ISO 9001

Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001, with documented process control rather than inspection-only testing at the end of the line.

🤝

SGS, BV and Intertek

Third-party inspection can be arranged for any order. The inspector works from your drawings and specification, so the acceptance criteria are yours and not ours.

📋

Customer-Nominated Inspection

If your own engineering or QA team wants to witness a stage — sampling, hardness testing, dimensional check or packing — we will schedule it into production.

📏

Pre-Shipment Inspection

Any order can be presented for inspection before it is packed and sealed, so that a non-conformity is found in the foundry rather than at your site.

Limits

What Our Reports Can and Cannot Tell You

Being clear about this is more useful than a general quality claim. Here is what an inspection report proves and what it does not.

What the reports do prove

  • The chemistry of the heat that your parts were poured from
  • The hardness and mechanical properties measured on that batch
  • The dimensions of your parts against the drawing or OEM specification
  • That the part is traceable to its production records

What they cannot prove

  • How long the part will last in your specific crusher — that depends on feed material, hardness, abrasiveness, feed size, crusher setting and operating conditions
  • That one grade is the best for your duty — that comes from reviewing wear data over more than one campaign
  • That a part will behave identically to a different foundry's part — even with the same grade, heat treatment and dimensions, wear life can differ

We would rather tell you this than let a certificate create an expectation it cannot meet. If a supplier tells you a hardness figure guarantees a service life, that claim cannot be supported by the documents they are issuing.
