Wear Part Selection & Reference Service Life by Application
The table below is the selection logic we apply in practice: application, feed material, crusher type, wear part, recommended grade, reference service life range and the operating conditions that drive the result.
| 애플리케이션 | Material Processed | Crusher / Mill | Wear Part | Recommended Grade | Reference Service Life | Key Operating Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Primary crushing | Granite, basalt and hard rock | Jaw crusher (PE / C series) | Fixed & swing jaw plates | Mn18Cr2 | 500 – 900 h | Feed up to 600 mm, highly abrasive igneous rock, heavy impact loading |
| Primary crushing | Limestone and low-abrasion rock | Jaw crusher | Fixed & swing jaw plates | Mn13Cr2 | 900 – 1,500 h | Lower abrasiveness, moderate impact, higher throughput per hour |
| Primary crushing | Very hard ore, large section liners | Gyratory crusher | Concaves & mantles | Mn22 | 500 – 900 h | Very high compressive strength ore, crack resistance prioritised over surface hardness |
| Secondary / tertiary | Basalt, 화강암, hard aggregate | Cone crusher (HP / GP / Symons) | Mantle & bowl liner | Mn18Cr2 | 600 – 1,000 h | Closed side setting 10 – 25 mm, abrasive feed, even material distribution required |
| Impact crushing | Limestone, low-silica aggregate | HSI impactor | Blow bars | High chrome Cr26 | 250 – 500 h | Low silica content, tramp metal controlled, abrasion-dominant wear |
| Recycling | Demolition concrete and asphalt | HSI impactor / mobile unit | Blow bars | High chrome Cr20 or Mn18Cr2 | 150 – 350 h | Reinforcing bar and tramp metal present — grade selected against toughness requirement |
| Cement | Limestone and clinker | Hammer crusher | Hammer heads | High chrome Cr26 | 600 – 1,200 h | Hot abrasive feed, low impact, evenly graded material |
| Grinding | Clinker and ore | Ball mill | Mill liners | Mn13Cr2 / Cr-Mo alloy steel | 6,000 – 10,000 h | Abrasive slurry with low impact energy, continuous operation between mill shutdowns |
How to Read This Table
Service life figures shown in this section are reference ranges for selection purposes, based on typical results in standard applications. Actual service life depends on feed material, material hardness and abrasiveness, feed size, crusher setting and operating conditions. Results from a specific application should not be treated as a guaranteed value for every application.
Reference ranges are compiled from standard application experience in comparable crushing and grinding duties. Chemical and mechanical values are typical ranges for each grade — the actual values for your order are confirmed on the mill certificate and inspection report issued for that heat.
If you can tell us your feed material, crusher model, closed side setting and current change-out interval, we will recommend a grade against your actual duty rather than against a general table. Send us your application data.
채광 & Mineral Processing
Primary and secondary crushing of hard metal ores
Iron, copper, gold, manganese and zinc ores are among the hardest and most abrasive feeds in the industry. Wear parts in mining circuits must survive heavy impact at the primary stage and abrasive slurry in grinding circuits, often on a 24-hour duty cycle.
Common Equipment
- Primary gyratory crushers
- Jaw crushers (PE and C series)
- Secondary and tertiary cone crushers (HP, GP, Sandvik CH, Symons)
- SAG and AG mills
- Ball mills for fine grinding
- Vibrating screens and apron feeders
Common Wear Parts
- Gyratory concaves and mantles
- Jaw plates, cheek plates and toggle seats
- Cone mantles and bowl liners
- Mill liners and lifter bars
- Chute, hopper and bin liners
- Screen deck and feeder wear plates
Typical Materials Processed
- Iron ore

Wear Conditions
- Very high compressive strength ore
- Heavy impact loading at the primary stage
- Abrasive slurry and fines in grinding circuits
- Continuous 24-hour operation with tight shutdown windows
Material Selection
Mn18 and Mn18Cr2 for cone and jaw liners where impact and abrasion are both significant. Mn22 for very large primary gyratory liners where crack resistance matters more than maximum hardness. High chrome alloy for chute, hopper and bin liners where sliding abrasion dominates and impact is low.
Our Experience in This Application
Wear parts supplied to metal mines and mineral processing plants for gyratory, jaw and cone crushers, made to OEM dimensions and to customer mill-liner drawings. Parts are matched to the site feed size and crusher setting rather than supplied as a single generic grade.
채석 & Aggregate Production
Granite, 현무암, limestone and river stone aggregate plants
Aggregate plants are the largest single market for crusher wear parts. Cost per ton of finished aggregate is decided almost entirely by how long jaw plates, cone liners and blow bars last between change-outs.
Common Equipment
- Jaw crushers (PE, C series and mobile units)
- Secondary and tertiary cone crushers
- Horizontal shaft impactors (HSI)
- Vertical shaft impactors (VSI)
- Vibrating screens
- Pan and grizzly feeders
Common Wear Parts
- Fixed and swing jaw plates
- Cone mantles, bowl liners and concaves
- Blow bars and impact plates
- Cheek plates, side liners and toggle plates
- Screen deck wear liners
- Feeder and chute liners
Typical Materials Processed
- Granite
- Basalt
- Limestone
- River stone and gravel
- Andesite
- Gabbro and dolomite
Wear Conditions
- Highly abrasive igneous rock such as granite and basalt
- Repeated high-impact loading in jaw and cone chambers
- Frequent change-outs that directly drive cost per ton
- Feed size variability from quarry blasting
Material Selection
Mn18Cr2 for jaw plates and cone liners in granite and basalt, where the combination of impact and abrasion is most severe. Mn13Cr2 for limestone and other lower-abrasion feeds, where chromium-alloyed manganese gives better wear resistance than plain Mn13. High chrome Cr20 to Cr26 blow bars for limestone and low-silica aggregate.
Our Experience in This Application
Jaw plates supplied with tooth profiles matched to the feed — standard, coarse corrugated and heavy-duty — so that grip and throughput are balanced against wear life. Cone liners manufactured to OEM dimensions for Symons, HP, GP and Trio series, with chamber profiles kept to original geometry.
Cement Production
Limestone crushing, clinker grinding and mill internals
Cement plants combine abrasion-dominant wear with elevated temperature and almost no unplanned downtime tolerance. Shutdown windows are planned months in advance, so wear life has to be predictable as well as long.
Common Equipment
- Jaw and gyratory primary crushers
- Hammer crushers for limestone
- HSI impactors
- Ball mills for raw meal and clinker
- Vertical roller mills
- Clinker coolers and grate plates
Common Wear Parts
- Hammer heads and crusher rings
- Blow bars and impact plates
- Mill liners and lifter bars
- Grinding rings, rollers and table liners
- Grate plates and diaphragm plates
- Cooler grate and chute liners
Typical Materials Processed
- Limestone
- Clay and marl
- Shale
- Cement clinker
- Gypsum
- Granulated blast furnace slag
Wear Conditions
- Hot and abrasive clinker
- Evenly graded feed with controlled tramp metal
- Continuous operation between planned shutdowns
- Elevated temperature in the grinding zone
Material Selection
High chrome Cr26 hammer heads and blow bars for limestone and clinker, because wear there is abrasion-dominant with limited impact. Mn13Cr2 and chromium-molybdenum alloy steel for mill liners in cement grinding, where a balance of toughness and wear resistance is needed. Heat-resistant grades are selected where the part operates at elevated temperature.
Our Experience in This Application
Hammer heads, blow bars and mill liners manufactured to cement plant drawings, including mill-specific bolt patterns, liner thickness and lifter geometry. Hardness and chemical reports are issued for every batch, and heat treatment records are kept with the heat number so that a plant can trace a liner back to its production data.
Coal & Power Generation
Coal crushing, pulverising and flue gas desulphurisation
Coal handling and pulverising equipment runs at high throughput with a mixture of impact and abrasion. Wear parts here are usually replaced on a schedule tied to unit outages, so consistency between batches matters as much as absolute wear life.
Common Equipment
- Ring hammer crushers
- Reversible hammer mills
- Coal pulverisers and bowl mills
- Roller mills
- Limestone mills for FGD
- Ash handling and conveying equipment
Common Wear Parts
- Hammer heads and crusher rings
- Pulveriser rolls and grinding rings
- Wear plates and liners
- Mill table liners
- Chute and hopper liners
- Fan and classifier wear parts
Typical Materials Processed
- Bituminous coal
- Sub-bituminous coal
- Lignite
- Limestone for FGD
- Bottom ash
- Fly ash
Wear Conditions
- Combined impact and abrasion duty
- Variable moisture content in the feed
- Elevated temperature in pulverising zones
- High volume throughput with scheduled replacement windows
Material Selection
High chrome alloy for pulveriser rolls, rings and table liners where abrasion dominates. Mn13Cr2 and Mn18Cr2 for crusher hammers where impact loading is significant. Hardened carbon and low-alloy cast steel for housings, supports and structural wear plates where toughness and weldability are required.
Our Experience in This Application
Ring hammers and crusher rings supplied to power stations and coal preparation plants in standard mill series sizes and to plant drawings. Where a plant has previously used a single grade for all wear parts, parts are reviewed by position so that the grade matches the wear mechanism at that specific point.
Recycling & Demolition
Concrete, asphalt and construction demolition waste
Recycling and demolition feeds are unpredictable by nature. Reinforcing bar, tramp metal and mixed material mean that toughness often matters more than maximum surface hardness, because a cracked blow bar stops the plant immediately.
Common Equipment
- HSI impactors and mobile crushing units
- VSI crushers for shaping
- Shredders for C&D waste
- Material separators and magnets
- Screens and conveyors
Common Wear Parts
- Blow bars and impact plates
- Side and rotor liners
- Shredder hammers and rotor wear plates
- Grate bars and breaker plates
- Chute and hopper liners
Typical Materials Processed
- Demolition concrete
- Reinforced concrete
- Reclaimed asphalt pavement
- Brick and masonry
- Mixed construction and demolition waste
Wear Conditions
- High impact from rebar and tramp metal
- Highly abrasive crushed concrete
- Unpredictable feed composition
- Frequent stops if a part fails by cracking rather than wearing
Material Selection
High chrome Cr20 to Cr26 blow bars where tramp metal is controlled and abrasion dominates. Martensitic alloy steel or Mn18Cr2 where heavy rebar impact is expected and toughness must take priority. Mn13Cr2 for side liners, impact plates and grate bars.
Our Experience in This Application
Blow bars produced for standard HSI rotor series with matched weight tolerance so that rotor balance is maintained, supplied in both high chrome and impact-resistant grades. Where a customer has moved from a hard but brittle grade to a tougher grade, the operating cost is reviewed against change-out frequency rather than against part price alone.
Construction & Earthworks
Bucket teeth, cutting edges and ground-engaging tools
Ground-engaging tools wear by sliding abrasion with intermittent high-impact loading. The right balance between work-hardening toughness and surface hardness decides both the wear rate and whether a tooth bends or snaps.
Common Equipment
- Hydraulic excavators
- Wheel loaders
- Draglines and face shovels
- Bulldozers and rippers
- Crushing buckets and screening buckets
Common Wear Parts
- Bucket teeth and adapters
- Cutting edges and end bits
- Bucket liners and heel shrouds
- Ripper tips and shanks
- Wear plates and chute liners
Typical Materials Processed
- Soil and clay
- Sand and gravel
- Blasted rock
- Demolition debris
- Coal and slag
Wear Conditions
- Abrasion-dominated sliding wear
- Intermittent high-impact loading on rock
- Combined wear from ground engagement and material flow
- Parts often changed in the field, so fitment accuracy matters
Material Selection
Mn13 and Mn13Cr2 for bucket teeth, adapters, cutting edges and ripper tips, where work hardening under load gives long life with good resistance to bending. High chrome alloy for bucket and chute liners where sliding abrasion dominates and no impact is expected.
Our Experience in This Application
Bucket teeth, adapters and wear plates supplied in standard machine sizes and to customer drawings, with part numbers and bolt-hole patterns matched to the original fitment so that existing pins, locks and hardware can be reused.
